
Trai Hume pens new Sunderland contract amid Wolfsburg interest

Northern Ireland international Trai Hume has signed a new deal with newly promoted Premier League side Sunderland, the club has announced.

Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce that Trai Hume has signed a new long-term contract, committing his future to the Club until 2030! ✍️
Hume had been linked to German side VfL Wolfsburg over the summer, including a reported £10 million bid in the past couple days, but those rumours have now been laid to rest, with a contract signed until 2030.
The 23-year-old right back was a pivotal figure on the promoted Sunderland side, escaping the Championship through the Playoffs. Hume contributed three goals and six assists in 44 appearences for the Wearsiders, winning 259 duels across the season.

Hume is a fan favourite at the Stadium of Light, since signing from Linfield in 2021. His signature “Huuuuuuume” chant rings around the stadium, home or away, after every crunching tackle he makes.
