Fantasy Premier League GW3 - All You Need to Know

As Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League kicks off, managers are buzzing with excitement and strategizing their next moves after a thrilling start to the 2025/26 season. With standout performances and unexpected results in the opening weeks, the pressure is on to optimize lineups and capitalize on favourable fixtures. Whether you're chasing early points or recovering from a slow start, this gameweek promises plenty of drama and opportunities to climb the ranks.

Arne Slot (Liverpool)

Speaking on Wirtz against Newcastle

"We only 40% ball in play against Newcastle so for them to have a lot of touches is quite hard and when the ball was play it was in the air. So there was not much football on the ground. I also know Mo [Salah] would have loved to touch the ball more. So it is the opposition you play and their playing style. But is not the first time we have played this playing style and we know we can do better."

The Impact Ekitike has made

"He has made a big impact on our attacking, not just scoring goals but starting attacks. That is a bit more than last season. The most simple answer to what he can improve is his match fitness. So I expect him to do a lot more off the ball. But that is normal as he had to adjust to a different league and playing style. He also came a bit later in pre-season so has had to adapt to the intensity levels without the ball, they are the small steps to take."

Injury updates

"Conor Bradley has trained all this week. [Alexis] Mac Allister has also started training again. I don't think we had any injuries [after Newcastle]/ Virgil [van Dijk] is also ok, that is the main thing."

Chances of Ngumoha starting

"It is the beauty of football that although we have spent a lot there is still room for him and he can show his quality. As things stand there is still room for him to show that in the upcoming game as well. So I think he will be on the bench and has a fair chance of coming in if needed."

Eddie Howe (Newcastle)

Speaking on the move for Nick Woltemade

"Not too much [to say] but positive signs, I think things are moving and developing in good way at the moment. Can't confirm anything but fingers crossed."

Commenting on Will Osula

"I thought Will did really well when he came on on Monday night. He gave us renewed energy, he has improved a lot from this time last year. He has gained the knowledge and experience of how we play, he is gaining in confidence and that goal will do him the world of good."

Injury updates

"Relatively good news on both players. When they left the pitch [against Liverpool] we feared they'd be out long term because it didn't look good for either but Joelinton's scan was relatively good - he will miss this weekend but there's a chance he could be available the other side of the international break.

"Similar for Tonali, I think his injury isn't serious, he's battling trying to be fit for tomorrow but whether he will make it I'm not sure. But really positive signs because we thought we'd be losing them for longer."

The future of Isak

"It's difficult for me to give you any sort of clarity on the future. I've said before, I don't know what the future holds in that respect because I'm not involved with it myself. I've got no update and I'm just focusing on bringing players into the club."

David Moyes (Everton)

The impact of Jack Grealish

"I'm really pleased because he is a real talent and someone we hope we can get back to the levels he has produced over many years. I hope he can build on it, continue get fitter and continue to keep playing regularly."

Injury updates

"I hope [he is ready to go]. It was good to get Mykolenko back as we have been short in that area. Adam still has a little bit of a problem with his ankle. He is back doing a little bit of training but we just need to monitor it and see how he is."

Commenting on Harrison Armstrong

"A loan is there if we want to. He played really well in midweek and showed he has potential to be a future Everton player. But are we going to give him enough games between now and January? Remember we lose a few to the Africa Cup of Nations. So it is something we are looking at, but we are really pleased with how he is coming on."

Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton)

Uncertainty of Rutter

He is "unsure" whether Georginio Rutter will be available for the City game but he is "close" to returning.

Commenting on Tzimas

Stefanos Tzimas, who scored twice on his senior debut, "will be an option" for the squad "soon" as "every goal gets him closer to the team".

The future of Baleba

"Yes. If there was a number more than 100 then I would say that. I am confident."

Update on Enciso

Julio Enciso "is back" to continue his rehabilitation as his reported move to Strasbourg appears to have fallen through.

Keith Andrews (Brentford)

The future of Wissa

Yoane Wissa remains out of contention as Andrews focuses on the "settled group" of players who don't have any "issues ongoing". The Bees boss confirmed there has been "no movement" on a potential move away and is confident the striker will be at Brentford once the transfer window closes.

No Henderson

The squad remains the same as the one that travelled to Bournemouth on Tuesday with the exception of the returning Jordan Henderson.

Facing Sunderland

"I can't wait for it. It's a traditional ground and, with the journey they've been on as a football club, having dipped down one or two divisions at times, they have a fanbase that is clearly so passionate and engaged.

Scott Parker (Burnley)

Playing Manchester United

"We are playing against an exceptional and a historic football club. They have some top quality players, who can change games at any moment. We are under no illusions of the task we have ahead of us."

Addressing transfer speculation

"There will be some players who will leave and getting that game time is essential for them."

Squad readiness

Parker shared there are "no fresh injuries" for his side.

"Some of the lads got minutes during the week and that helps them get up to speed."

Daniel Farke (Leeds United)

Injury updates

New signing Noak Okafor is Daniel Farke's only "major doubt" for the visit of the Magpies with a groin problem, while Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka have already been ruled out with respective MCL issues.

Transfer news

Farke said the club are still targeting forwards before the end of the transfer window on Monday: "We are always open and transparent with what we are doing. We wanted to strengthen all areas. We make no secret that to the last day of the window we will look to strengthen our offence a bit more."

Calvert-Lewin's debut

"Everyone wishes for a dream start. Football is not dreamland. I was quite pleased. 40 minutes under his belt. You can see him growing day-to-day. We build up his fitness and and resilience against injuries. I like it that he showed straight away his instinct to be where a striker should be. I wouldn't judge it in anyway negative that he missed the chances."

Ruben Amorim (Manchester United)

Wanting Mainoo to stay

"Until it's official, I cannot say much. I want Kobbie to stay. He needs to fight for his place, and we need Kobbie. So that is not going to change. The rest I don't know how it's going to finish. I understand that the players that are not playing in this moment are disappointed. But everyone will have the same opportunity to play. You have to fight during the week."

Relationship with players

"I know that when I speak these things. Guys, to be really honest with you guys, every time that we have or have in the future one defeat like that, I'm going to be like that. I'm going to say that sometimes I hate my players, sometimes I love my players, sometimes I want to defend my players. This is my way of doing things and I'm going to be like that. And I felt that in that moment I was so frustrated and annoyed. And I know, again, that you have a lot of experienced people talking about the way I should perform with the media, to be more constant, to be more calm. I'm not going to be like that."

Thoughts on quitting

"Sometimes I want to quit, sometimes I want to be here for 20 years. Some times I love to be with my players, sometimes I don't want to be with them. So, again, I need to improve on that. It's going to be hard. But now I'm good with the next one."

Enzo Maresca (Chelsea)

Injury updates

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca began his news conference by confirming Cole Palmer will miss Saturday's match with a groin problem.

Benoit Badiashille and Romeo Lavia are both also out.

Commenting on Garnacho

"I know he is around here.

"It's quite clear his position is a winger and I see him as a winger."

Transfer speculation

"You can expect anything with the transfer window open - anything can happen in and out.

"I joined the club one year ago saying I was in love with the squad and it has got better. The feeling is the same."

Coping without key players

"Cole we need to see day by day. Romeo and Benoit - I don't think they will be back after the international break but they will be closer."

"Two years ago, he [Lavia] didn't play any games. Last year, he played some games. The target is to give him more games this season. I don't know [when he will be back]."

Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth)

Injury updates

“Lewis [Cook] is doing well and we could see him back in training during the international break.

“Elsewhere, Enes Ünal is still a long-term injury and Julián Araujo is suspended after his red card the other night [against Brentford].

“But as things stand everyone else is available."

Vitor Pereira (Wolves)

Update on Strand Larsen

"It is important that we know every person has ambition in life, but at this moment, Jorgen is our player, is working hard because he has a good personality and is a team player. He is dealing with a small injury problem, and I hope we can play tomorrow with him. He is our player and an important player for us, and everything we cannot control, we cannot lose our energy. At this moment, it is important to think about the game."

Graham Potter (West Ham)

Commenting on West Ham's poor start

"I don't think it's about reassurances. I'm an experienced manager, I try my best and it's my job to help the players. We're all hurting, because the pre-season was encouraging.

"We lost at Sunderland and against Chelsea, and we're not shying away from the fact that things haven't been good. At the same time, I don't think we're far from a performance and a result that gets things on a good path."

Bowen's reaction after Wolves defeat

"Jarrod made a statement after the Wolves game. He's great for this club, but at the same time we understand fans are frustrated. We have to stay together and look to do well going forwards."

New signing Fernandes

"I think he brings a quality, a character, a desire and a personality, which we have here as well. He's someone we've known and looked at for a long time, and we're delighted he's here.

"I think he's at an exciting stage of his career, he has Premier League experience, but I'm looking forward to him taking the next step here with us. I'm really excited about the signing."

Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

Saka ruled out

"Bukayo is doing better, but he will be out for a few weeks. No surgery."

"It's not as bad as the previous one, very unfortunate. It was an action that required full power from him, had to change direction and he felt something.

Odegaard a doubt

"He hasn’t trained yet and, if he does, it will be tomorrow. He is doing everything he can to make himself available."

Other injury updates

Arteta also confirmed Christian Norgaard, Ben White and Leandro Trossard are all also doubts for Sunday's match.

Commenting on Eze

"Very special energy, special aura around him and really willing. I heard a lot about him. He's gathered a lot of information on that pitch.

"Yes, very impressed with him."

Chances of starting

"We have options in that position, so let's see and I'm not going to give you any clues obviously."

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

Commenting on Trafford's morale

"Always have the arm around their shoulders, they don't believe how we take care of them. Impossible to be better. What happened doesn't belong just to James in the second goal. He is a strong man and a huge personality. We are here to help them, no doubt about that."

Availability of players

Guardiola confirmed that Rayan Ait-Nouri is available for selection and there were no other fresh injury concerns although he "hopes" to have Savinho back after the international break.

Reuniting with De Bruyne and Sane

"I am really pleased that they can come back here and, of course, we have to beat the two teams - Napoli and Galatasaray. But it is nice to bring them back, and we can give a great welcome to them because they deserve it,"

Nuno Espirito Santo (Nottingham Forest)

His relationship with Evangelos Marinakis

"We didn't have chance this week [to discuss].

"A tough week for both of us. A lot of work. The president is now in Monaco as you are aware. But we are to talk.

"This kind of thing should be done in the right moment. the right moment is after the game. Now we are focussed on West Ham and then the international break and that is the right time."

Players making the England squad

"Delighted and the boy is buzzing.

"For him and for Morgan [Gibbs-White], it is a special and proud moment for us all.

" I have been checking, since 1996 we didn’t have two players in England squad. It says a lot about them and improvement of the team. These visual recognitions are only possible if the team competes well."

Marco Silva (Fulham)

Injury updates

Fulham boss Marco Silva says the injury suffered Harry Wilson against Bristol City in midweek is "nothing serious" but they will "have to see" if he will be ready for Saturday's game against Chelsea.

Silva added that full-back Antonee Robinson could feature but is not ready to play 90 minutes.

Transfer activity

"We have a fantastic group of players here, but we still need depth, quality and competition. We need at least three players.

"We are still looking to strengthen our attacking line with two players and one midfielder, which is what we had planned. We probably need a striker as well but that probably isn't going to be possible."

Unai Emery (Aston Villa)

Squad availability

Midfielder Boubacar Kamara was forced off early in last weekend's defeat at Brentford.

"We will see tomorrow, I don’t want to anticipate," Emery said.

"We have some players injured but I will want to train tomorrow and (see) how we can use the players in the squad for Sunday.

"Until tomorrow, the last training session, I don’t want to say anything."

Ezri Konsa will be available for selection after missing last weekend's game through suspension.

Thomas Frank (Tottenham)

Working hard on new signing

"I hope they get good news later today for various reasons because we're trying to sign players and that we will try to do until the end of the transfer window.

"I can confirm that we are working very hard to get someone over the line, that I can confirm."

Djed Spence's England call-up

"Big credit to Djed, he truly deserves it. What a journey to being called up, and I don't think many saw that coming. He had a good end to last season, and he had a top pre-season. I am so happy for him."

Injury updates

"Yes, he could [feature tomorrow]. He'll be in the squad so that's very positive for us."

Frank added that Yves Bissouma is out while defender Radu Dragusin should be back "in 10 days to two weeks".

Regis Le Bris (Sunderland)

Squad availability

"No, nothing [new after Dan Ballard].

"At the moment we have 15-16 potential starters available for the match.

"So, tomorrow we start with 11 and maybe finish with three, four or five more players from the squad."
