Jamie Carragher criticises Alejandro Garnacho's behaviour at Stamford Bridge

In a recent YouTube video by Sky Sports, Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher rate signings made throughout the summer transfer window. When speaking about Alejandro Garnacho, they believed that he would be a 'miss' as opposed to a 'hit' at Chelsea.

Jamie Carragher’s comments about the young star’s behaviour at Stamford Bridge, during Chelsea's 2-0 win against Fulham, have sparked debate online as fans claim his comments are too harsh considering he was only spectating and not involved with the squad.

Garnacho’s Big Move to Chelsea

Alejandro Garnacho was Chelsea's final of the summer transfer window. Known for his flair, speed, and goal-scoring ability, the young winger has already shown glimpses of why he’s a perfect fit for the Blues’ attacking style.

Chelsea fans have eventually welcomed him with open arms, eager to see him light up Stamford Bridge alongside the likes of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro. However, Carragher’s recent remarks have cast a spotlight on Garnacho’s off-field habits, giving fans plenty to chew on as we integrate our new star into the squad.

The Carragher Controversy: What Was Said?

During a recent YouTube Video with Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher didn’t hold back when discussing Garnacho’s behaviour during a match. He stated:

“I’m not a fan of Garnacho. Do you know what I didn’t like? Did you see the game yesterday, when they cut to the crowd and they were on their phones when the game is on. It’s not just him, lots of people do it. I can’t stand it. A miss for that, being on his phone when the game is on.”

Reaction to these Comments

Despite the controversy, Chelsea supporters have eventually got behind Garnacho’s arrival. His pace, creativity, and knack for finding the back of the net make him a vital addition to our squad.

Carragher’s comments are understandable to a certain extent, however it's very harsh to judge someone for being on his mobile phone without any context as to why. Yes it isn't a brilliant look for Garnacho, however it's not going to impact his performances on the pitch.
